about this record

Bill Van Loo presents a set of 4 ambient guitar pieces for wintertime. The title, “The Ghost of an Idea”, is taken from the prologue of Charles Dickens’ classic “A Christmas Carol”; the four track titles are abbreviated forms of chapter titles. This release was inspired by the complex and emotional memories presented in the Dickens story, as well as the idea of the Holy Ghost inhabiting and inspiring artistic works of diverse forms.

“Any Christian spirit working kindly in its little sphere, whatever it may be, will find its mortal life too short for its vast means of usefulness.”
