Those looking for the continuation of the Bill Bonds saga will just have to wait until tomorrow afternoon. Sorry. I've got other things on my mind that are far more important.
So
Let's talk about theft for a minute.
I suppose we could ponder on theft in general, but this time around..I think I'll concentrate on a particular kind.
This afternoon I discovered that someone was taking my debit card for a joy ride to the tune of a significant amount of money. Now..all of those who think that I live in a nice 3 bedroom house in a Detroit suburb and I drink Dom and Moet from a giant stein have got it mostly right. I drink snooty beer and the house isn't mine. I don't exactly make a king's ransom at my job, and that's not exactly my problem. What IS my problem is that I have a budget, and I stick to it with discipline in hopes of one day getting my own place; preferrably somewhere in the Boston Edison district. So when someone disrupts this process it greatly disturbs me. I work hard for my money and what I'm lucky enough where I have a job that doesn't always FEEL like a job.
You may or may not be out there; he or she who took my debit card numbers. You may have found an entry to be offensive or you may just dislike me in general. That's okay. I can tolerate dissent. I have faced criticism for a great majority of my life and don't expect it to end right when I magically reach the age of adulthood. But I'd like to know why. I would like to know how you picked the lucky digits and decided to plummet what little gold I have stored up. I would like to know how you felt when you took the money; I'm sure it felt pretty good to just take something so easily with the click of a mouse. And for all I know you have access to so many other things. I hope you're better at being me than I am -- because for all I know I could be doing a lousy job at it.
Needless to say I'm rather upset with the situation and not doing well. This couldn't have come at a more inconvienent time, and when I needed the money the most.
I have contacted my bank and local authorities and they are going to work on my case. Hopefully this will be a smooth and simple situation to rectify; but I'm not quite certain that it will.
If anyone wants to talk I'll be on my front porch most of this week. Or at work.
