I know all three of you were waiting with baited breath for my MUTEK review. I'm sorry. It's just going to have to wait. Simply too filled with writer's block at the moment to do it justice, plus tomorrow (ed note: most of these will now be written in the evening and posted in the morning, so from time to time I'm going to slip with my concept of...well...time..) I have to finish some hot reviews: the new Celine Dion live recording, the last Phish record, the new Kid 606 and Poison's epic Swallow This Live! release. All the while I just want to listen to Journey records from 78-83.
And now, some long long overdue linkage:
These two movies are from the creators of South Park. Apparently they were to be a long running series that Macromedia endorsed the lads to produce. However, after seeing the first two episodes the plug was pulled promptly. Warning: these are so not safe for work. Watch at your own risk. However, if you want to see the awesome South Park ditty, just put on your headphones, watch this and enjoy. Big respect to Matt Tobey for the hookups on these links.
Blank00 emerges from his New York state of mind to deliver this pretty cool site. I'd have to agree with most of these pics actually! Agree!
The Metro Times gets Paris 68 to review the festival. Spot on, lads! Agree!
Alter Ego's new record is fantastic. I found a place to get some quick samples. Fast forward to the track Satanic Circus and hear my jam of the year. Unbelieveably sick Acidschlaffel. The rest of the album ain't so bad either. I know of a few DJs around Detroit that got tests that have been playing several tracks in the clubs to good response.
Finally (for now), Common Factor returns to Detroit tomorrow night. He and I are doing a soul session for Terry Dwyer's outstanding Boombox summer series @ Agave. The Weather channel is calling for a slight chance of rain...but the idea of playing soul dusties on a patio on a clear summer night is quite an ideal notion. No cover. We start around ten-ish. Should be a good time.
