So Bush's speech, as we all know, was one of the worst he's given in quite some time. It was patronizing, insulting and horrifically executed.
Not that I expected anything less from Ol' Dubya.
What I find most interesting is this: Bush snubbed the NAACP last week, however showed up at the NUL. The NAACP has been harsh (at least on paper) of Bush and the handling of the economy and Iraq. But the NUL has seemed to be a bit more moderate in its criticism, and to make up in the public's eye for the press snafu that was the NAACP declination..what better way to make up and look good to African American voters?
Upon having a brief phone conversation with my girlfriend (herein referred to on this blog as "super sexy community organizer" or SSCO) remarked:
"How can you say that you want the black vote and ignore/shun the naacp, the oldest, most progressive african american org. in the country?
How can you say you want the female vote and leave town when 1.25 million show up on your lawn?"
