VACATION STYLE: POST GAME WRAP UP

A few awesome observations that failed to make prior editions:

1. There is actually a state park in Kentucky called Big Bone Lick State Park. Not as good as the classic Exit 69/Big Beaver Road, but still quite amusing. Shut up, Beavis. I know you're laughing.

2. Getting called "queer" at a Kentucky rest area for wearing this shirt (different color, same type) means I'm doing something right.

3. And speaking of that same rest stop, there were three coca cola vending machines all lined up in a row. Two of them had coke bottles on them, the other had Dale "Buckle Up" Earnhardt's image on it. No one was purchasing their carbonated beverages from any of the machines that did not have Dale's presence on it. There was a LINE UP. A LINE UP.

4. The Carter Family rules.

5. When selecting a rental car, be VERY clear and explicit as to which type you'd prefer. I asked for a compact, economy car and the porter pulled up a Ford Excursion. Not wanting to pay $20 every 5 miles for petrol, I insisted they get me a new one. I got a Mitsubishi 2004 Spyder convertable instead.

The topic of Dale Earnhardt and his southern martyrdom will be a topic in the upcoming week for sure. Just a heads up.

VOTING UPDATE: So far it's a neck and neck tie between the DJ mix and Live set...with one vote from a particular website voting for a mac and cheese dinner. I have the inclination just to cook him dinner for being so daring as to choose that option. Though I must say my mac and cheese brings all the rednecks to the yard. And I'm like "it's better than yours".

New Bjork is tasty, but those who deem it groundbreaking obviously haven't been listening to the law offices of Herbert, Akufen and Dear for the past few years. Nor have they been consulting the accounting firm of Tzadik and Ipecac.

A gold star on the forehead goes to:

_Mike Doyle for protesting peacefully in NYC this weekend:

(Good job, Mike)

_Carmen, DJ, Ann Wallace, Jon, Kathryne and Bo for making the trip to Tennessee so enjoyable for me.

_SSCO because...well...yknow...

Well...I'm back. And there's more to come..
