Approximately four people turned out (press non withstanding) for Jenny from the Mitt's announcement honoring techno pioneers Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson.
XCopy points out a brilliant observation from the wreckage of this political goodface brouhaha

Other techno towelboys Juan "Amtrak" Atkins and Eddie "Hindenberg Techno Festival" Fowlkes were ineligable to receive the award because these "Detroiters" left town for LA a few years back. However, "some say" Eddie has been petitioning to get his rightful award alongside Derrick and Kevin.
Along with the award May and Saunderson will receive an entire year's supply of Arby's curly fries, a 12 pack of Hanes over the calf socks and a $5 gift card which can be used at over 400 Olive Garden restaurants worldwide.
Mad Mike, the original badass, was unavailabe for comment.
