MAYBE IF YOU CLEANED THE KITCHEN IT WOULDN'T STINK TO HIGH HELL

West Wing was surprisingly okay last night. In between the absurd plot twists of recent with asteroids, MS attacks, dinosaurs and exorcisms...the acting and drama was pretty high quality; especially when compared to some of the other episodes of the season. I really liked how dark they're making Josh.

Another AMGer joins in the chant and get his own blog. Ladies and gentleman I give you Mr. Mark Deming.

The landlord/patron saint of this blog chimes in an article about handclaps, with the woeful omission of Telefon Tel Aviv from the list, he and I might add.

Skyler sends forth a link of a Commodore 64 remix of Wham!'s "Last Christmas". I'd like to vote for this to be last day on earth.

A look at the predictions of what music would sound like in 2002, written in 1979.

A rather seething attack by smooth jazz guitarist Pat Metheny at Kenny G, for Kenny's necroduet (new word?) Louie Armstrong on "What A Wonderful World". I originally typed Louie Anderson, re-enacting a faux pas my uncle made two christmas' ago when he asked for some new jazz music from me. I would totally love to have a Kenny G/Louie Anderson necroduet, but that would require one of them to be dead. And that argument about Louie Anderson being a zombie can so easily be refuted.

Or can it?

A quick glance at dead or alive says he's still breathing and kicking, but that doesn't imply whether or not he's been dead once already.

And last but most certainly not least, I received this little bit of genius from Kevin McFancy in my inbox today and it's kept me laughing all morning. Laugh along with me at his brilliance, won't you?:

"End of year lists are either about who you love or who you hate. I can't be bothered to care that much. In that spirit, I'm posting the things that elicit the most indifference from me.

Without further justification, here are my:

Top 10 most Indifferent Responses in 2004

1) Interpol - nonplused, but not bothered
2) Franz Ferdinand - blasé
3) Lip-synching - big whoop
4) NFL Wardrobe Malfunctions - that's fine
5) The Pixies - yeah I said it. No hate here, I'm just "okay with it"
6) M.I.A. - if you're into that sort of thing
7) Steroids - someone's upset, but not me
8) CMJ - was I in town for this?
9) The Grey Album - "meh"

and . . . most surprising to me . . .

10) Yanks lose to the Red Sox - not the soul-crushing shock I anticipated.

Call me a fence-sitter. I really can't be bothered to disagree with that"

Amen, Kevin. Amen.
